About Julie

Hi My name is Julie Bennett. I am an author of this website and of three books about learning.

My previous work has involved freelance training, developing and delivering workshops, presentations and courses for a variety of client groups including:

Teacher training in schools
Businesses
Parents and children
Young people and adults

I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia). My early working life was as a school teacher and I have now specialised in dyslexia consultancy.

My special areas of interest are dyslexia awareness, handwriting, study skills, emotional intelligence and overcoming barriers to learning.

I believe in finding creative innovative solutions to learning difficulties.

I believe it is important to help learners to achieve self empowerment and to realise that they hold the key to unlock their own potential.

I am dyslexic and I have two grown up children who are dyslexic. This has enabled me to see things from the perspective of a parent, a dyslexic adult and a professional.
